Carmen Deriso sent us this information on his brother-in-law
John A. Amore’s service in January of 2012.
 
          The dispatch papers state that John Amore last attended school in Hackensack in the 8th grade in 1926 at the age of 14.

That would mean in January 14, 1943, when John was drafted into the Army, he would have been 31 years old, which was at the very high end of the age limit at the time.  He was given the job of Supply Clerk and served in that capacity with the Army Air Force in England, France, Belgium,
and Germany. 

John A. Amore received European-African-Middle Eastern Services Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

          According to John A. Amore’s Dispatch papers, he had worked for eight years prior to his date of entry into service at
Goldberg’s Slipper Factory where he shaped shoes to form.
